Jennifer | Springfield Missouri Boudoir Photographer
One of my favorite boudoir educational groups is Boudoir Exposed. It has been amazing during this journey to become a better boudoir photographer. Brian and Jennifer from Sheer Photography, who run it, make the group fun and enjoyable and super helpful. They have the type of group that you don't feel stupid for asking that one question. You know that one that you second guess asking in the first place or just feel stupid about. So it didn't surprise me when I was wondering through one day this spring and Jennifer was doing a live virtual shoot! So I had to jump on it and participate... I was so excited.…

Bedroom Dreams|Springfield Missouri Boudoir Photographer
Webcam sessions have been so much fun. Not only I am I meeting far away friends again but I am able to connect with other boudoir photographers just like Jackie. It was like talking with an old friend who I hadn't seen in forever! When it was time for the shoot, she took me around her area to see where I could photograph her at. She had this gorgeous bed setup in her house! Between the turquoise sofa and the moon photograph or painting, it was like I had picked out my dream shooting area. The colors were great! And it was my first FaceTime shoot! I own an android…

Studio Dreams |Springfield Missouri Boudoir Photographer
As most of you know, we moved into the town of Springfield, Missouri back at the beginning of March. The best part of the new house besides the location for clients was the basement. Why? Because the main parts of the basement are going to become the new studio location for Boudoir by Paula. Ever since finding out where we were moving to, I have been trying to figure out a vision of what I want my studio to look like. It is hard. When all I see right now, is the beige carpet, the wainscoting and nothingness. It is better with the bed put together. But to envision the…

Shaking Sh*t Up|Springfield Missouri Boudoir Photographer
After pushing through doing Webcam sessions on my own after learning from Teri Hofford's Shake Shit Up with Webcam's class, I was excited to hear that she planned a LIVE shoot for all of us to get some more practice at the Webcam shoots. Teri is a boudoir photographer who specializes in ALLbodies. The class I took in Dallas was actually taught by her. While her model fell through on the day of the shoot, Teri decided to jump in and model for us! She did a amazingly for being a photographer more than a model. This works pretty easy I found out for Webcam shoots! The only differences were…

Finding time during the Stay-at-Home Order| Springfield Missouri Boudoir Photographer
One of my favorite parts about Webcam shoots has been the ability to meet new people and see old friends. It really has been just about the connection for me. Yes, I like the being at home. I like the relaxing, but I miss the connections that photography brings me. It's Spring. It's the time that I want to be out and photographing new people and see all the pretty trees and enjoy my favorite weather! Miss D was nice of enough to let me do a Webcam shoot with her. We hadn't been able to connect in person for a boudoir shoot so I contacted her as soon as…

Making New Friends| Springfield, Mo Boudoir Photographer
The second Webcam shoot I did was a boudoir photographer in Indiana who announced that she was willing to model for a Webcam session. Needless to say, after the first one with Layne, I was a little more nervous because of the audio issues we had. However with Nicci, we had none! It was so awesome. She was actually stuck at home where her studio was located! So she took me around to multiple locations all over her house/studio that were so amazing! My heart wished so hard that I was able to wonder all around it with my real camera and myself, but I had to work with the…

Connecting Through Trial and Error| Springfield Mo Boudoir Photographer
The very first webcam shoot I did was with Miss Layne. I was nervous and I wasn't exactly sure how everything would go, but I knew I was ready to try. The first issue we had was her phone would not let her talk to me. No matter how many times we came in and out of the Zoom app, she couldn't get unmuted. So we actually connected via her laptop as well as her phone. We were able to talk at each other on the laptop while the phone was held by her family member where I was able to capture the images. As you can tell from the…

Finding Creativeness in the Pause |Springfield Missouri Boudoir Photographer
On the middle of the third week, I found a life line that I didn't realize I was looking for. My friend Teri Hofford over at Teri Hofford Photography (who is amazing! Go check her out here.) Teri announced that she was doing WEBCAM sessions. I was like Webcam Sessions? What? After seeing several sets, I purchased the guide and WOW! What an amazing creative rush! Of course, I called on a few people and answered some calls for a photographer for Webcam shoots in my educational groups. My first two were two amazing ladies. One was a photographer in Indiana. The next a lady from the Joplin, Mo area. …
