Making New Friends| Springfield, Mo Boudoir Photographer
The second Webcam shoot I did was a boudoir photographer in Indiana who announced that she was willing to model for a Webcam session. Needless to say, after the first one with Layne, I was a little more nervous because of the audio issues we had. However with Nicci, we had none! It was so awesome. She was actually stuck at home where her studio was located! So she took me around to multiple locations all over her house/studio that were so amazing! My heart wished so hard that I was able to wonder all around it with my real camera and myself, but I had to work with the…

Connecting Through Trial and Error| Springfield Mo Boudoir Photographer
The very first webcam shoot I did was with Miss Layne. I was nervous and I wasn't exactly sure how everything would go, but I knew I was ready to try. The first issue we had was her phone would not let her talk to me. No matter how many times we came in and out of the Zoom app, she couldn't get unmuted. So we actually connected via her laptop as well as her phone. We were able to talk at each other on the laptop while the phone was held by her family member where I was able to capture the images. As you can tell from the…

Finding Creativeness in the Pause |Springfield Missouri Boudoir Photographer
On the middle of the third week, I found a life line that I didn't realize I was looking for. My friend Teri Hofford over at Teri Hofford Photography (who is amazing! Go check her out here.) Teri announced that she was doing WEBCAM sessions. I was like Webcam Sessions? What? After seeing several sets, I purchased the guide and WOW! What an amazing creative rush! Of course, I called on a few people and answered some calls for a photographer for Webcam shoots in my educational groups. My first two were two amazing ladies. One was a photographer in Indiana. The next a lady from the Joplin, Mo area. …

The Pause aka Coronavirus 2020
I read somewhere in the middle of March when the United States kind of went upside down that this time at home was being called the Pause. Mom and Dads were able to be at home with their kids. Family Dinners were happening again. Kids were home from school. And so much more. At first with the stay-at-home order, I didn't completely understand it all. My hour break was shortened to 30 mins, but other than that I was still working at my full-time job. But then after about a week, I was furloughed. (Wow, what another story for another day). The first week was nice like a vacation. The…

Water Boudoir Mini Sessions 2019
Water Minis! I love Water and I love Boudoir. So after last year and the amazingness that we created, I knew I had to do it this year and open it up for others to participate in the fun. Now, wait a second why are these so much better than just a session in the water. It's a discounted photo session. It's a shorter amount of time so lower the cost. And this round of mini sessions include 10 edited images from the session! It's hard to believe and to think about a session like this. In total they are $80. $40 to reserve your spot and $40 to pay…

To ALL the Mothers
Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers (and dad's who are moms!) out there! This day always makes me think. It makes me think about us as women and what we go through. Whether being pregnant, birthing a child, dreaming of a child, losing a child, gaining a child, having a child, not being able to, or being happy with fur babies. It's hard to be a woman sometimes. It's hard to talk about it. Don't forget all of us are in this. No matter where you are in this journey of womanhood, I think you are doing amazing. I think you are wonderful exactly the way you are.…

The Beauty of Water Boudoir | Springfield Boudoir Photographer
2018 was about pushing my limits and trying new things like water photography. I was working on everything that would make me a better photographer, a better boudoir photographer. No, a better women’s photographer. As a woman, who is still learning to be comfortable in her own skin, I am always looking for ways to help pose my clients in a way that shows off them at their best. While most of us can be insecure about the bathing suit aspect, etc., the water is a place that doesn’t judge us. Water is actually one of those places where I feel beautiful. Maybe not always out of the water, but…

I’d Have to Shave My Legs for That | Springfield Boudoir Photographer
When I started the Boudoir by Paula Facebook page about a year or so ago, I wanted to help women see how beautiful they truly are. So I started doing some giveaways. Ms J was one of those winners. I remember talking about boudoir and her saying I’d have to shave my legs, but I guess. Her Pinterest board made me laugh and get inspired for her shoot! (Are you following me on Pinterest? Click here) Her loving, kind, giving personality, I wanted to show her how amazing she was and is. I’ll stop chatting and let her tell you in her own words. When Paula suggested boudoir…

Happiness & Sadness: A Tribute to A Friend | Springfield Boudoir Photographer
Trigger warning: Death No day is promised. Anything can happen and does. When it happens, the best thing we can do is remember the happy moments. Over the weekend, one of my new boudoir photographer friends, Jenna died from complications from a car accident. We had connected at the boudoir worksop I attended back in November. She was an amazing boudoir photographer from Minnesota and she was eager to learn more. We spent our last night in Dallas -staying up late and talking about pricing, hopes and dreams for the future, and so much more. The final day of the workshop,…
